First responders were dispatched to a North White Plains residence shortly before 3 a.m. on Friday, April 26, where there was a report of a fire in the basement of the home.
According to the police in North Castle, first responders from the North Castle Police Department, North White Plains, Valhalla, West Harrison and Thornwood fire departments and paramedics from Valhalla all responded to the scene on Church Street.
Officials said that all occupants were able to safely exit the residence without injury. The fire was quickly extinguished by first responders without further incident.
Members of the Westchester County Cause and Origin Team have preliminarily determined that the fire was accidental in nature.
